SUMMARY:Camp Wilderness 2022 - - 1 Aug 22 00:00
DESCRIPTION:\n\n \n\nHello Families\, Campers\, &amp\; Volunteers!\nIt is
MHA's pleasure to announce that Camp Wilderness registration is now OPEN!
We are so excited for camp this year and are hopeful to have it live\, in
person. Lake Doniphan Conference &amp\; Retreat Center in Excelsior Spring
s\, MO will once again be our host location. We are grateful for our conti
nued partnership with their staff and facilities.\n\n Campers: Camp Wilde
rness will begin on Monday\, August 1\, 2022.\n Volunteer Staff: Camp Wil
derness will begin Sunday\, July 31\, 2022.\n All: Camp Wilderness will e
nd for everyone on Friday August 5\, 2022.\n\nIt has been a long two years
and we realize camp has possibly drifted from being a routine activity fo
r you as a camper or volunteer. We firmly believe in the value of camp and
what it provides to youth with bleeding disorders. Please take a moment t
o fill out the application and register your camper for their best week ev
er!\n\nAnd of course\, Camp Wilderness would not be possible without the m
any individuals who donate their time to serve as staff volunteers. We inv
ite you to complete the application to volunteer for your best week ever a
s well!\n\nRegistration can be accessed through CampDoc and if you have us
ed this system before\, it should have saved all of your previous answers
to make registration simple. The link below will register everyone\, both
campers and volunteer staff.\n\n\nThe registration deadline for campers an
 d volunteers is Monday\, June 27\, 2022.\n&nbsp\;\n\n\n&nbsp\;\nCovid-19 D
etails\n\n\nIn an effort to communicate clearly\, I want to share a couple
things regarding Camp Wilderness this year. We are not completely out of
the woods regarding COVID-19 even though restrictions have relaxed in the
surrounding Kansas City area. We have been communicating and deliberating
with the Kansas City Regional Hemophilia Treatment Center and we have deci
ded to use the same risk mitigation plan previously established for Camp W
 ilderness.\n\nThis includes but isn't limited to:\n\n Separating cabins i
nto pods\n Utilizing masks and social distancing\n Prescreening with sym
ptom checks and rapid tests\n\nIn addition to the previously established p
lan\, we have decided all staff and campers who attend Camp Wilderness mus
t be fully vaccinated regarding COVID-19. A person is considered fully vac
cinated two weeks after receiving all recommended doses in the primary ser
ies of their COVID-19 vaccination. To clarify\, Pfizer-BioNTech and Modern
a require two doses in their primary series while Johnson &amp\; Johnson
’s Janssen requires one dose. We encourage individuals to be up to date
with their COVID-19 vaccination by being fully vaccinated and receiving on
e booster when eligible but it will not be necessary to attend Camp Wilder
ness.\n\nWe simply don’t know what will happen four months from now and
in an effort to have camp\, we have chosen to do everything possible to ha
ve the best chance for camp to happen in person. At this point in time\, w
e believe following the already established processes and procedures to mi
tigate COVID-19 and ensuring everyone is fully vaccinated is the best deci
sion.\n\nAll of the specific details regarding the COVID-19 policies are i
n the "COVID-19 Information Section" of the camp application for both staf
f and campers.\n\nWe so desperately want to have camp\, however\, more imp
ortantly we want to keep our campers and staff healthy. We appreciate your
understanding and look forward to seeing you this year at Camp Wilderness
to have our BEST WEEK EVER!\n\nIf you have questions\, concerns\, and/or
need assistance registering for camp please contact me for assistance.\n\n
 All the best!\nLuke Saulsberry\nCamp Wilderness Director\ncampdirector@mid
westhemophilia.org\n816.315.7308\n\nPlease note: I do have a new email add
ress: campdirector@midwesthemophilia.org which means my old address is def
unct and will not work.\nThank you to our Camp Wilderness Sponsors:\nTrail
  Angels \nTrail Leaders\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n
